Cape Point on a foggy morning – this taken way out on the tip of the peninsula
I usually format the photos too small to see much detail, but this time I couldn’t do it – these photos demand to be sized large. Unlike other photos on this blog – you can click on these two and get the larger photos. Try it.
Sirpa and I hiked out to the end of the peninsula this morning in dense fog, no wind and no people - just fog. The fog and the lack of wind (not used to that here!) gave the whole area a magical mystical feeling. Nice. Many lizards and millions of sea birds and two seals. And a mouse.
I just discovered your blog and checked out a few of the (in English) posts around Cape Town. I am jealous – you got to go to Cape Point Vineyards!
I have often wondered if they do tours, and now you have answered my question – No.
I find it amazing how they have two locations quite far apart, with quite a lot of residential area in between. But such a spectacular location.
The vineyards at Hemel en Aarde valley definitely compete for the ‘furthest south’ honour, if Cape Point wins it’s by a second or two at most: both locations boast a latitude of 34 deg 22 min
Enjoy the rest of your year here in Africa!
I am so glad you two indulge in some healthy activity since we left. Personally I ache like hell from streetdance class yesterday, but it´s great fun! But Sam, I miss an entry. An entry you promised to write:-)
Kisses Nathalie
It took quite a bit of work to get to tour Cape Point Vineyards; but it was worth it. Awesome location and fantastic wines! I will have to give Hemel en Aarde valley a chance as well… it is a tough job doing all that wine tasting…
Nathalie: Post on Omer’s guide to South Africa is on it’s way
Hey, when did you start posting full size photos on here? I love that image of Cape Town. It’s my desktop background!
